GROUP FITNESS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

We offer a wide variety of fun and challenging exercise classes for every level of fitness.

15 MINUTE ABS (all levels)

Compliment your fitness routine with classic core conditioning. *Goes great with the Spinning class immediately prior.

 AM BOOTCAMP (Intermediate)

Watch your body transform as you kick start your metabolism and build lean muscles with alternating segments of cardio and weights.

ANY BODY YOGA (all levels)

A yoga class for any kind of body; stiff or pliable, frail or powerful, sedate or active, any kind of body can reap the benefits. Props such as blocks and blankets assist in adjusting yoga poses to fit your body in a non-competitive environment.

 BOOT CAMP (Inter.-Adv.)
Recommended: 10-minute cardio warm-up before class. Boot Camp consists of alternating high repetition segments of weight lifting and cardio conditioning.

 BODY BASICS (Beginning/Intermediate)      Get off to a great start in the morning! This unique workout is designed to improve core muscular strength, endurance, agility equilibrium and postural control.  Get a great workout while having fun and achieving real fitness results.

BODY BLITZ (all levels)                                       
Make the most of your time in this intense total body sculpting class that squeezes a 60-minute workout into 30. 

BOSU BODY (all levels)                                        
45 minutes of Integrated Balance Training using the BOSU. Build strength, burn calories, and improve your coordination. It’s fun, challenging, and a total body workout for any fitness level.

CORE FUSION (all levels)                                    
A Pilates based class with influences of yoga and traditional strength training.  Build flexibility, strength and muscle tone while connecting the mind and body. Enhance your core condition with balls, bands and other props for the perfect Pilates tone.

 ESSENTIAL PILATES (Beginning/Intermediate)The perfect class for both the complete beginner and very advanced student.  The class focuses on perfect form and building blocks of Pilates, upon which more advanced moves are built.  Come and  build a strong foundation of Pilates' basic principles while working at the level that is right for you.

 FALL TRAINING RIDE (F.T.R.) (Intermediate)     If you are ready for a challenging twist to the traditional SPINNING class, or pursuing outdoor cycling competitively, this is the class for you!  A periodized program geared towards cyclists and anyone who wants to train like an athlete.

 H.E.A.T.  HIGH ENERGY ATHLETIC TRAINING (all levels)
Using the philosophy of athletic training, H.E.A.T. is taught in an interval format with higher and lower intensity levels incorporating cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training.

INTEGRAL YOGA (Beginning/Intermediate)   A classical form of yoga that incorporates an integrated sequence of bodily postures (asanas), deep relaxation, breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation.  Strengthen and tone your muscles while improving flexibility and stimulating all your internal organs.  This 70 minute class will calm and relax you as you end your weekend and prepare for the work week.

JAZZERCISE (all levels)
This class is FREE to Peak members! Each 45-minute class includes: Warm-up, 30-minute aerobic workout, muscle toning and full-body stretch. Fresh choreography to music you love—a program that’s anything but routine.

 *KICKBOXING BAG WORKOUT (all levels)
 NOT recommended for members who have any previous or chronically existing back and joint injuries. Train to strike, block, punch, and kick a punching bag while gaining greater strength, flexibility, stamina, and an aerobic workout. Kick/Bag Intro., Beginning Bag, and Kick/Bag are all formatted to challenge participants of any fitness levels. Please arrive 15 minutes early.*class size limited/pick up pass at front desk.

 MUSCLE WORKS (all levels)
Suggested 5-10 minute cardiovascular warm-up prior to class. A combination of body sculpting and low impact movements using weights. If you’re not into dancey combinations that require mega-coordination, this is the class for you!!!

NRG EXPRESS (all levels)                              

The step and/or BOSU is used for sports drills and plyometrics with power muscle work mixed throughout this 45 minute class.

OVERDRIVE (all levels)
Start your weekend off right with this blend of cardio and muscle training that will set your metabolism into high gear.

PILATES (all levels)
Pilates conditions the entire body and promotes balanced musculature, flexibility, and agility. Walk away from class with improved posture and core control.

POWER FIT (Inter.-Adv.)                                                                       
Work the cardio intervals, using the step and BOSU for sports drills and plyometrics, to raise your heart rate. Power through the intervals of muscle work to bring your heart rate down while building muscle and burning fat.

  POWER PILATES (Intermediate)                

A more challenging workout for individuals familiar with Pilates.  Ideal for those who are looking to further challenge themselves.  The instructor will assume that participants have a knowledge of Pilates terminology and choreography

 POWER YOGA (Intermediate)          Strengthen muscles, increase flexibility and improve circulation with this invigorating Vinyasa flow practice. Room is heated to 80°.

 SILVER SNEAKERS (Beginning)

Get fit, have fun, make friends! The award-winning fitness program enables older adults to take charge of their health and maintain an active, independent lifestyle.  Improve strength, flexibility, endurance, balance and postural control while cultivating new awareness of the mind/body in activities of daily living.  Post rehabilitation participants welcome!

 SHADOW BOXING (all levels)
This is a low-impact high intensity workout for all fitness levels. Have fun during this energetic class learning form, strategy, and traditional kickboxing techniques.

 SPINNING (all levels)*
More than just a workout! Combines a foundation of basic cycling movements, motivational coaching techniques and breathing awareness. Available in 45 and 60min lengths.      *FIRST TIME TO SPINNING – Please arrive 5-10 minutes early for proper bike set-up.

 STEP EXPRESS (all levels)
30 minutes of classic step to get your heart pumping! Come and enjoy the fun cheography that anyone can follow.

 SYNERGY (all levels)
Build your Core for functional stability and health in this 45 minute class that incorporates Pilates, yoga and traditional core strengthening exercises.

TOTAL BODY TONING (all levels)

Sculpt and define from head to toe as you strengthen your entire body. Using weights, bands, balls and much more, variety will prevent you from hitting a fitness plateau. With options for everyone, challenge your body to its personal best each class.

 YOGA (all levels)
Iyengar/eclectic inspired hatha yoga. Emphasis on dynamic precision and alignment, aided when necessary by various props to maximize opening and awareness. Stability and concentration are developed while the physical body is revitalized. Practical requests: bare-feet, empty stomach and loose clothing.

 YOGA FUSION (all levels)   
A unique hybrid of core work, ballet, body sculpting and yoga. Yoga Fusion will tone, work out, and sooth the body and soul.                                                   

ZUMBA (all levels)

Zumba combines high energy and motivating Latin and international music with easy to follow body sculpting dance moves and combinations. Available in 30, 45, and 60min lengths to fit into your workout routine.
